Following on from a post a while back I have been re-visiting Psychological Profiling and found this great little site which goes, at some length, to explain the different types of people.

I can’t help thinking that there is a great deal of mileage in working out the Psychological Type of visitors to a website and dealing with them appropriately.

    I just wonder if some of this is “high-hanging fruit” - maybe stuff to pick when the lower-hanging stuff is already in the bag.

    For example find out if the site visitor wants to buy mens or womens clothes then show them the right category on repeat visits.

    Or find out if the visitor is still at the research stage or is now ready to buy. If ready to buy put a juicy offer right in front of her. If still doing research then give her some compelling information and maybe an on-line product selection tool or product comparator to help her transition into buying mood.
